PAL is a method of color coding in television, all called Phase Alternating Line. In addition to North America, parts of East Asia using the NTSC, the Middle East, France and Eastern Europe other than by SECAM, most parts of the world are using PAL cable.
The invention of PAL cable is to be compatible with the original black and white television format in the case of adding color signal. The principle of PAL cable is similar to NTSC. "Line by line down phase" means that each line of color scan line signal, PAL cable will keep his party down with above line. The function of PAL cable is automatically corrected the dissemination may occur in phases. The early PAL TV does't have particular component to correct the wrong phase, some serious fault can be find evidently by naked eye sometimes. In recent years, television signals will color up the line with the average before the next show. Thus, PAL cable 's vertical resolution of this color will be lower than NTSC. However, the sensitivity of human eye color is less than on the light and dark, so this is not an apparent problems.
